# How to close the month in accounts payable in Sage 200

In Sage 200, enter and approve all purchase invoice records dated in the month, accrue goods received, reconcile the supplier ageing report to the ledger, then lock the period.

Closing the month in AP means making sure every bill for the month is entered, approved and coded and the payables balance ties out.

## The Sage 200 way

Where to find it: Purchase Ledger period end checks, then close the period in Accounting System Manager

1. Make sure no one else is logged on. Enter all transactions for the period.
2. Run Report Pending Transactions, then Update Pending Transactions in the Purchase Ledger.
3. Check and clear any transactions requiring authorisation.
4. Allocate as much cash as possible on open item accounts. Put under query anything that must stay at period end.
5. Print remittances and clear the suggested payments file. Print the detailed VAT report and VAT Return. Update foreign exchange rates.
6. Print Transaction Listing, Aged Creditors, Vatable Transactions, List of Accounts and Trading reports. Back up Purchase Ledger data.
7. Reconcile Aged Creditors to the Creditors Control account, then close the period in Accounting System Manager.

## The Pulsify way

1. Clear the Pulsify queue: approve, reject or archive each bill waiting.
2. Forward missing bills from suppliers to your Pulsify address.
3. Reconcile key supplier statements in Pulsify.
4. Then run reports and lock the period in Sage 200.

What Pulsify does not do here:
