# How to code a voucher with mixed GST lines in CloudSuite Industrial

In CloudSuite Industrial, set the tax code on each line of the voucher. Use the GST code for taxable lines and the GST-free code for others, then check the GST total matches the invoice.

A mixed GST bill has some lines with GST and some without, such as taxable goods plus GST-free items. Each line needs its own GST code.

## Before you start

- Tax Systems form with Active for Purchasing selected

## The CloudSuite Industrial way

Where to find it: Generate A/P Transactions > Taxes tab; A/P Vouchers and Adjustments

1. For PO-based vouchers, open Generate A/P Transactions and go to the Taxes tab
2. Click Generate Tax to calculate pending tax lines per PO
3. Add a manual tax line for any amount not generated
4. Make the header Sales Tax equal the Taxes tab total
5. For manually keyed vouchers, enter the tax amount in the Sales Tax field (shown when Prompt for State Tax is set on Tax Parameters)

## Limits in CloudSuite Industrial

- Tax is worked out per tax system and tax code. For PO-based vouchers Generate Tax creates a pending tax line per PO line; any other amount needs a manual tax line
- The Taxes tab only shows when Active for Purchasing is selected on the Tax Systems form for at least one tax system
- The Financials guide does not list Australian GST codes. Your partner sets them up as a tax system

## Good to know in CloudSuite Industrial

- The Sales Tax field label is user-defined

## The Pulsify way

1. Forward the supplier's invoice to your Pulsify address or upload it. Pulsify reads every line and finds the vendor in CloudSuite Industrial.
2. Pulsify works out the GST rate for each line from what is printed and picks the matching tax code in CloudSuite Industrial.
3. Check any line where the invoice is unclear. Change the tax code and approve.
4. The voucher is created in CloudSuite Industrial with the GST on each line.

Pulsify connects to CloudSuite Industrial. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do here:

- If the invoice does not show GST by line, Pulsify uses past bills for that vendor. Check those lines yourself.

## Common mistakes

- Leaving the header Sales Tax different from the Taxes tab total.
- Not setting Prompt for State Tax on Tax Parameters, so the Sales Tax field is not shown on manually keyed vouchers.

## Common questions

### Why can't I see the Taxes tab?

It only shows when Active for Purchasing is selected on the Tax Systems form for at least one tax system.

### How is tax worked out on PO vouchers?

Click Generate Tax on the Taxes tab to create a pending tax line per PO line. Add a manual tax line for any amount not generated.

### Are Australian GST codes included?

The Financials guide does not list Australian GST codes. Your partner sets them up as a tax system.

### Does Pulsify code GST by line?

Yes. Pulsify sets a GST code on each line from the rate printed on that line and matches it to a tax code in your ledger.
