# How to code one invoice to several ledger account codes in Sage 300 CRE

In Sage 300 CRE, add a line for each type of cost on the invoice. Set a different ledger account and tax code on each line, then check the total matches the invoice.

Coding one bill to several accounts means each line of a supplier invoice goes to the expense or asset account that matches what was bought.

## The Sage 300 CRE way

Where to find it: Accounts Payable > Enter Invoices > distribution lines

1. Add one line per account.

## The Pulsify way

1. Forward the supplier's invoice to your Pulsify address or upload it. Pulsify reads every line and finds the vendor in Sage 300 CRE.
2. Pulsify suggests an account for each line from past bills for that vendor. Each line gets its own account and tax code.
3. Check the suggestions in Pulsify, change any that are wrong and approve.
4. The invoice is created in Sage 300 CRE with the right account on every line.

Pulsify connects to Sage 300 CRE. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do here:

- Pulsify can only pick from the accounts that exist in Sage 300 CRE.

## Common mistakes

- Putting two accounts on one line instead of adding one line per account.
- Keying the full invoice amount on every line instead of each account's share.

## Common questions

### How do I code one invoice to several accounts?

Open Enter Invoices and add one distribution line for each account. Each line holds its own amount.

### Can a line carry a job as well as an account?

Yes. Partner and help sources describe job, cost code and account on each distribution line, so one line can carry all three.

### Can I keep the invoice pending while I sort out the accounts?

The steps say you can save the invoice as pending. Pending invoices wait until you finish coding and post them.

### Does Pulsify learn how I code?

Yes. Pulsify suggests an account for each line from how that supplier was coded on past bills. You can change any suggestion.
