# How to code one bill to several GL account codes in Sage Intacct

In Sage Intacct, add a line for each type of cost on the bill. Set a different GL account and tax detail on each line, then check the total matches the invoice.

Coding one bill to several accounts means each line of a supplier invoice goes to the expense or asset account that matches what was bought.

## Before you start

- Accounts Payable subscription
- Business user with Bills: List, View, Add permission

## The Sage Intacct way

Where to find it: Accounts Payable > All > Add next to Bills > Entries

1. In the Entries section add a line for each account.
2. Select the Account (or Account label) on each line and enter its Amount.
3. Use Show defaults to set a default dimension for every line, then override single lines if needed.
4. Post the bill.

## Limits in Sage Intacct

- Set a Default expense account on the vendor record to prefill the Account field.

## Good to know in Sage Intacct

- Line-item columns can be added, removed and rearranged if you have the permissions.

## The Pulsify way

1. Forward the supplier's invoice to your Pulsify address or upload it. Pulsify reads every line and finds the vendor in Sage Intacct.
2. Pulsify suggests an account for each line from past bills for that vendor. Each line gets its own account and tax detail.
3. Check the suggestions in Pulsify, change any that are wrong and approve.
4. The bill is created in Sage Intacct with the right account on every line.

Pulsify connects to Sage Intacct. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do here:

- Pulsify can only pick from the accounts that exist in Sage Intacct.

## Common mistakes

- Leaving the vendor's default expense account on every line when the bill is mixed.
- Setting a default dimension in Show defaults and forgetting to override the odd line.
