# How to code one A/P invoice to several G/L account codes in SAP B1

In SAP B1, add a line for each type of cost on the A/P invoice. Set a different G/L account and tax code on each line, then check the total matches the invoice.

Coding one bill to several accounts means each line of a supplier invoice goes to the expense or asset account that matches what was bought.

## Before you start

- Service type document

## The SAP B1 way

Where to find it: Purchasing A/P > A/P Invoice (service)

1. Choose Service as the document type.
2. Add one row for each G/L account.
3. Add.

## The Pulsify way

1. Forward the supplier's invoice to your Pulsify address or upload it. Pulsify reads every line and finds the vendor in SAP B1.
2. Pulsify suggests an account for each line from past bills for that vendor. Each line gets its own account and tax code.
3. Check the suggestions in Pulsify, change any that are wrong and approve.
4. The A/P invoice is created in SAP B1 with the right account on every line.

Pulsify connects to SAP B1. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do here:

- Pulsify can only pick from the accounts that exist in SAP B1.

## Common mistakes

- Using Item type for a cost invoice, then having no item code for the row.
- Adding one row for the whole total instead of one row for each G/L account.

## Common questions

### How do I code one invoice to several G/L accounts?

Choose Service as the document type and add one row for each G/L account. The vendor help refers to an A/P invoice of service type for this.

### Do I need item codes for a service invoice?

No. On a service type document you enter the G/L account on each row instead of an item code.

### Is the row-level steps page fully confirmed?

Only in part. Check your own form layout before you rely on it.

### Does Pulsify learn how I code?

Yes. Pulsify suggests an account for each line from how that supplier was coded on past bills. You can change any suggestion.
