# How to control supplier bank detail changes in Sage 200

Do not change supplier bank details in Sage 200 from an email. Phone the supplier on a number you already hold, get a second approval, then update the supplier record.

A bank detail change is when a supplier asks you to pay a new sort code or account number. It is a common fraud route.

## Before you start

- Accounting System Manager access

## The Sage 200 way

Where to find it: Accounting System Manager > Audit Log > View Audit Log

1. Open the audit log to see changes to supplier bank details.
2. Set user access to the audit log and email notifications.
3. Restrict who can edit supplier accounts.

## Limits in Sage 200

- The audit log records bank detail changes; no approval or call-back step.

## The Pulsify way

1. Forward the supplier's invoice to Pulsify.
2. Pulsify compares the bank details on the invoice with the supplier record in Sage 200.
3. If they differ, Pulsify flags it with the system value.
4. Verify with the supplier by phone before you approve.

Pulsify connects to Sage 200. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do here:

- Pulsify flags a mismatch. It does not decide whether the new details are real.
- It cannot verify details a supplier has never had in Sage 200.

## Common mistakes

- Treating the audit log as an approval step. It records changes but does not stop them.
- Leaving the Bank Details role feature at its default without deciding who should have it.
