# How to handle a partial delivery against a purchase order in Sage 300 CRE

In Sage 300 CRE, keep the commitment open, check each invoice against what has been billed so far and close the commitment only when the last delivery is invoiced.

A partial delivery is when a supplier delivers and bills only part of a purchase order, so the PO stays open with a balance.

## The Sage 300 CRE way

Where to find it: Accounts Payable > Tasks > Enter Invoices

1. Enter an invoice against the commitment for the part delivered so far.
2. Leave the commitment open and enter the next invoice when the rest arrives.

## Limits in Sage 300 CRE

- Partial billing is several invoices against one commitment. Base Accounts Payable checks invoices against the commitment total, not against goods received.

## The Pulsify way

1. Sync your open POs from Sage 300 CRE to Pulsify.
2. Forward each invoice. Pulsify links it to the commitment and matches lines on quantity and unit price.
3. Pulsify shows how much of the commitment is claimed, what this invoice adds and what is left.
4. Pulsify flags a line that bills more than what is left on the commitment.
5. Approve. The invoice is created in Sage 300 CRE against the commitment.

Pulsify connects to Sage 300 CRE. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do here:

- Pulsify matches to within 1 cent and has no tolerance setting.
- A lower quantity than the commitment line is not flagged, because partial delivery is normal.

## Common mistakes

- Expecting invoices to be matched to goods received in base Accounts Payable.
- Invoicing the full commitment on the first invoice when only part has arrived.

## Common questions

### Does Sage 300 CRE handle part deliveries?

Yes, by billing in parts. Enter several invoices against one commitment. Base Accounts Payable checks them against the commitment total, not against goods received.

### How do I see what is left on a commitment?

Committed cost reports show original, change orders, invoiced, retainage, paid and balance.

### Does Pulsify handle partial deliveries?

Yes. It tracks the PO balance across invoices and flags a line that goes over what is left.
