# How to import supplier invoice records from a CSV into IFS Cloud

In IFS Cloud, use the import template for supplier invoice records. Fill one row per line, keep the same invoice number on every line of a bill, test with a few rows, then import.

Importing bills from a CSV means loading many supplier bills into your accounting system from one spreadsheet instead of typing each one.

## Before you start

- External file assistant and supplier invoice parameters set up

## The IFS Cloud way

Where to find it: External Supplier Invoices on File

1. Set the Enter Supplier Invoice Parameters (default load type and whether partial creation is allowed)
2. Load a text file with the external file assistant and pick the layout type (separator, date format)
3. Check the batch. Each load has a load identity
4. Create the supplier invoices and vouchers

## Limits in IFS Cloud

- Files are text files with a defined layout. Invoice header, line, tax and posting levels are supported
- If partial creation is off, creation stops at the first incorrect invoice in the load

## Good to know in IFS Cloud

- The 23r2 guide said the standard version does not load external invoices. The 26r1 guide describes the external file assistant

## Common mistakes

- Skipping the Enter Supplier Invoice Parameters (default load type and partial creation) before the first load.
- Leaving partial creation off for a file that may contain a bad invoice.

## Common questions

### Can I load a file of supplier invoices?

Yes. Use External Supplier Invoices on File. Load a text file with the external file assistant and pick the layout type (separator, date format).

### What if one invoice in the file is wrong?

If partial creation is off, creation stops at the first incorrect invoice in the load.

### Why do older guides say it is not available?

The 23r2 guide said the standard version does not load external invoices. The 26r1 guide describes the external file assistant, so check your release.

### Can Pulsify import a CSV of bills?

No. Pulsify reads invoice documents. Forward each invoice to your Pulsify address and approve it.
