# How to job cost AP invoice records in Kinetic

In Kinetic, create each job, tag each AP invoice line with the job using GL account segments and job or project and run a cost-by-job report each month.

Job costing supplier bills means tagging each bill line to a job so you can see cost against budget for every job.

## The Kinetic way

Where to find it: AP Invoice Entry lines

1. Costs are collected only on a WBS Phase Job in Project Management
2. Add a Material line on the job with Misc Charge ticked
3. Apply the supplier invoice to that Misc Charge in AP
4. It posts as an ADJ-PUR transaction visible in Job Tracker > Material Transactions

## Limits in Kinetic

- Entries keyed straight to a GL account do not reach project cost reports

## The Pulsify way

1. Forward the supplier's invoice to Pulsify. Pulsify reads every row as its own line.
2. Review each line's account and set the job where it applies.
3. Route bills to the person who knows the job, using approval rules.
4. Approve. The AP invoice is created in Kinetic with each line.
