# How to job cost invoice records in Sage 300 CRE

In Sage 300 CRE, create each job, tag each invoice line with the job using job, cost code and cost type and run a cost-by-job report each month.

Job costing supplier bills means tagging each bill line to a job so you can see cost against budget for every job.

## The Sage 300 CRE way

Where to find it: Accounts Payable > Enter Invoices with job and cost code

1. Enter job, cost code and cost type on each distribution line.

## Limits in Sage 300 CRE

- Invoices on commitments post to job cost.

## The Pulsify way

1. Forward the supplier's invoice to Pulsify. Pulsify reads every row as its own line.
2. Review each line's account and set the job where it applies.
3. Route bills to the person who knows the job, using approval rules.
4. Approve. The invoice is created in Sage 300 CRE with each line.

Pulsify connects to Sage 300 CRE. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do here:

- Pulsify does not split lines by percentage.
- Job reports are run in Sage 300 CRE.

## Common mistakes

- Leaving the job or cost code blank on a line, so the cost has no job to land on.
- Leaving cost type off a line.

## Common questions

### What do I enter on each line to job cost an invoice?

Enter job, cost code and cost type on each distribution line.

### Do commitment invoices reach job cost?

### Where is this in the menu?

The path on file is Accounts Payable > Enter Invoices. The Accounts Payable guide is not on the public Sage site, so confirm screen names in your own version.

No. Enter separate lines with set amounts.
