# How to job cost bill records in Sage Intacct

In Sage Intacct, create each project, tag each bill line with the project using dimensions and run a cost-by-project report each month.

Job costing supplier bills means tagging each bill line to a job so you can see cost against budget for every job.

## Before you start

- Project dimension turned on in General Ledger (Basic Project Tracking)
- Projects subscription for Project Costing
- Construction subscription for cost types

## The Sage Intacct way

Where to find it: General Ledger > Setup > Configuration > Dimension Settings

1. Go to General Ledger > Setup > Configuration. Under Dimension Settings find Project, select Enable and save.
2. Create the project record and give it a project ID.
3. Tag each bill line with the project.
4. Report cost by project. Project Costing adds tasks and Construction adds cost types.

## Limits in Sage Intacct

- Basic Project Tracking tags bills with a project ID for reporting. Tasks and full project costs need Project Costing.
- Cost types are part of Construction.

## Good to know in Sage Intacct

- Basic Project Tracking is also called the Project dimension. Projects can sit in parent and child groups up to 5 levels deep.

### Do I need a Projects subscription?

Not to tag bills. Basic Project Tracking is the Project dimension and tags bills with a project ID for reporting. Tasks and full project costs need the Project Costing application. Cost types are part of Construction.

### Where do I put the project on a bill?

On each bill line, as the project dimension. Turn on Project under General Ledger > Setup > Configuration > Dimension Settings and create the project with a project ID first.

### Is this fully confirmed?

Only in part.

### Can Pulsify split by percentage?

No. Enter separate lines with set amounts.
