# How to job cost supplier invoice records in SYSPRO

In SYSPRO, create each job, tag each supplier invoice line with the job using GL distribution lines and jobs and run a cost-by-job report each month.

Job costing supplier bills means tagging each bill line to a job so you can see cost against budget for every job.

## Before you start

- Work in Progress (job costing) module

## The SYSPRO way

Where to find it: Program List > Accounts Payable > Invoice Processing > AP Invoice Posting > GL Distribution pane > Issue to Job

1. In the GL Distribution pane, choose Issue to Job for freight or miscellaneous charges that belong to a job.
2. Enter the Job number. The job must exist, be confirmed in Work in Progress and not be on hold.
3. Answer the prompt Is this allocation complete? (Yes returns you to the GL Distribution pane).
4. Use job costing and WIP reports in the job module.

## Limits in SYSPRO

- Issue to Job posts non-stocked amounts such as freight and miscellaneous charges directly to a WIP job. Ask your SYSPRO partner about subcontract invoices.
- AP and Work in Progress must be in the same financial period.

## The Pulsify way

1. Forward the supplier's invoice to Pulsify. Pulsify reads every row as its own line.
2. Review each line's account and set the job where it applies.
3. Route bills to the person who knows the job, using approval rules.
4. Approve. The supplier invoice is created in SYSPRO with each line.

Pulsify connects to SYSPRO. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do here:

- Pulsify does not split lines by percentage.
- Job reports are run in SYSPRO.

## Common mistakes

- Choosing Issue to Job for a job that is on hold.
