# How to keep an audit trail for invoice records in Sage 300 CRE

Attach the source invoice to every invoice in Sage 300 CRE. Record who approved and when, keep reasons for rejections and changes and test the trail on five bills.

An AP audit trail is the record of who received, coded, approved and paid each bill and what was checked.

## The Sage 300 CRE way

Where to find it: Tools > Options > Audit Setup Activity

1. Switch on Audit Setup Activity.
2. Read changes in the Log Viewer.

## Limits in Sage 300 CRE

- Covers listed setup fields only. It is not a full log of invoice edits.
- Invoice edits through Change Invoices create reversing entries in the GL.

- Log Viewer shows date and time, user, old and new value and company folder.
