# How to raise a purchase order in AccountRight

In AccountRight, create an order with the supplier card, lines and prices. Submit it for approval and send it to the supplier card only after it is approved.

Raising a purchase order means writing down what you are buying, from whom and at what price and getting sign-off before you order.

## Before you start

- Purchases access

## The AccountRight way

Where to find it: Purchases command centre > Enter Purchases > Purchase Type Order

1. Choose the supplier and set Purchase Type to Order.
2. Add lines, Promised Date and any Paid Today deposit.
3. Record, then print or email the order.

## Limits in AccountRight

- No approval step.

## The Pulsify way

1. Raise and approve the order in AccountRight as usual.
2. When the invoice arrives, Pulsify links it to the order and matches the lines.
3. Differences in quantity or price are flagged for review before approval.

Pulsify connects to MYOB in one click. Approved bills are created in MYOB with the source file attached.

What Pulsify does not do here:

- Raising and creating POs in Pulsify works with Xero only today. For AccountRight, Pulsify matches bills to the POs you raise there.

## Example in AccountRight

Example Bolts and Fixings quotes for a job. You set Purchase Type to Order and enter a Paid Today deposit.

- 200 x bolt at $1.80: $360.00 (Tax/GST: GST)
- 100 x washer at $1.40: $140.00 (Tax/GST: GST)

Total ex GST $500.00. GST $50.00. Order total $550.00. A Paid Today deposit of $100.00 leaves $450.00 to pay. Record, then print or email the order.

## Common mistakes

- Expecting someone else to approve the order before it is sent. There is no approval step.
- Leaving out the Promised Date.
