# How to report contractor payments for TPAR from IFS Cloud

Check if you must lodge, list supplier payments from 1 July to 30 June from IFS Cloud and report ABN, name, address, gross and GST. Lodge online by 28 August.

The Taxable payments annual report (TPAR) tells the ATO what you paid contractors in certain industries during the financial year.

## Before you start

- Supplier Group set for contractors
- Standard Template (STD) recommended when the company is created
- Tax Report defined with template S108 and Number of Periods set to 12

## The IFS Cloud way

Where to find it: Tax Ledger > Automatic Tax Proposal

1. Set the Company ABN and branch number
2. Set the supplier ABN and a contractor Supplier Group
3. Define a tax report with template S108
4. Update GL and Fetch Tax Ledger Info
5. Create a tax proposal, choose the S108 report, the period and supplier group
6. Print Preliminary or Definitive Report and pick the ATO contact person and a .txt file name
7. Add Australia and its states in Application Base Setup > Enterprise > Basic Data > Address Setup per Country, using the State Codes command.
8. Fill the company address and communication methods. They print in the sender and payer records of the file.
9. Add the staff who deal with the ATO under the company Employees sub menu so they appear in the ATO Contact Person list.
10. Define the tax report from template S108 on the Tax Report page and set the S108 template in Tax Template Field Control with Selection Based on Tax Codes.

## Limits in IFS Cloud

- No withholding tax or payments in advance
- No government grants
- Payment type Grant is left blank in the file because government grant pages are not supported.
- Withholding tax and payments made in advance are not supported, and IFS says to test every flow.

## Good to know in IFS Cloud

- Report is due to the ATO by 28 August
- The service types the ATO wants reported are building and construction, courier, cleaning, IT, road freight and security, investigation or surveillance.
- Payers keep payment information for five years and must be able to regenerate the file the ATO received.
- Gross paid and GST in each payee record come from the supplier invoices and payments you create for the tax year.
- BSB and account number print from the supplier payment method and are zero-filled when missing.

## Common mistakes

- Not setting a contractor Supplier Group on the suppliers to be reported.
- Leaving the supplier ABN blank, so the field is zero-filled.
