# How to run the Aged Payables Summary or Detail in Xero

In Xero, run the Aged Payables Summary or Detail as at your chosen date. Check the total ties to your accounts payable balance and look at items over 30 days.

An aged payables report lists what you owe each supplier, grouped by how overdue each bill is.

- Administrator, Standard + reports, Sales and purchases, Purchases or Viewer user role

## The Xero way

Where to find it: Reporting > All reports > Aged Payables Summary or Aged Payables Detail

2. Choose the Date or a set period such as End of last month.
3. Set Ageing Periods and Ageing By (Due Date or Invoice Date). Add filters or grouping if needed.
4. Click Update. Click an amount to drill into the detail report.
5. Save the layout as a custom report to reuse it.

## Limits in Xero

- The report includes bills, credit notes, expense claims and overpayments, not only bills.
- Bills awaiting payment on the report date are included even if paid since.

## Example in Xero

Example Pty Ltd runs Aged Payables Summary at 31 October with Ageing By set to Due Date.

- Current: $22,300.00 (Not yet due)
- 1 to 30 days overdue: $5,800.00 (Review)
- 31 to 60 days overdue: $900.00 (Open the detail report)
- Older: $640.00 (Check for an unallocated credit)

Total $29,640.00. Click the $640.00 older amount to open Aged Payables Detail and see which bills sit behind it.
