# How to split a bill across subaccounts and projects in MYOB Acumatica

In MYOB Acumatica, add one line per project or subaccount on the bill, tag each line with branch, subaccount and project and check the lines add up to the invoice total.

Splitting a bill across jobs or cost centres means giving each line of one supplier invoice its own job, department or project so costs land where they belong. In MYOB Acumatica you do it with branch, subaccount and project.

## Before you start

- Projects feature for the Project columns

## The MYOB Acumatica way

Where to find it: Bills and Adjustments > Details tab

1. On each line pick the Branch and Subaccount. If Projects is on the Project, Project Task and Cost Code.
2. Add one line per job or cost centre.
3. Save the bill.

## Limits in MYOB Acumatica

- The Project column appears only if the Projects feature is enabled and linked to accounts payable.
- No percentage split on one line.

## The Pulsify way

1. Forward the supplier's invoice to your Pulsify address. Pulsify reads every row as its own line.
2. Review each line and set its account. Line-item coding learns from how that vendor was coded before.
3. Approve. The bill is created in MYOB Acumatica with one line per row.

Pulsify connects to MYOB Acumatica. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do here:

- Pulsify does not split a line by percentage. A shared cost needs separate lines with set amounts.
- Tagging a line to branch, subaccount and project is done in MYOB Acumatica unless the line already carries it.

## Example in MYOB Acumatica

Example Roofing Supplies sends one bill for two projects. Total $3,300 including GST. Projects is on and linked to accounts payable.

- Roof sheeting, first project: $1,800.00 (Project: EXPROJ-01, Project Task: ROOF)
- Roof sheeting, second project: $900.00 (Project: EXPROJ-02, Project Task: ROOF)
- Delivery, first project share: $150.00 (Project: EXPROJ-01, Project Task: ROOF)
- Delivery, second project share: $150.00 (Project: EXPROJ-02, Project Task: ROOF)

EXPROJ-01 carries $1,950 and EXPROJ-02 carries $1,050 before GST, which adds up to the $3,000 on the bill.

## Common mistakes

- Expecting the Project columns when the Projects feature is not on or not linked to accounts payable.
- Coding the whole bill on one line, so a project cannot see its share. Add one line per project or subaccount.

## Common questions

### Can MYOB Acumatica split a bill line by percentage?

The help describes no percentage split on one line. Add one line per project or subaccount and enter the dollar amount for each.

### Why is the Project column missing on my bill?

The Project column appears only if the Projects feature is enabled and linked to accounts payable. Ask your administrator to check both.

### What can I pick on each line?

Branch and Subaccount on every line. With Projects on you can also pick the Project and Project Task. The Cost Code shows when that feature is on.
