# Multi-entity accounts payable for Sage 200

Sage 200 covers part of multi-entity accounts payable on its own. Pulsify gives each company its own address, suppliers and approval rules, with one login across all of them.

Multi-entity accounts payable means running supplier bills for several companies, each with its own books, from one team.

## What Sage 200 does on its own

With a multi-company licence Sage 200 runs several companies completely independently. Each has its own data files and its own system and ledger settings. Consolidation combines nominal ledger balances of subsidiaries into a parent company for group management reports.

- Consolidation covers nominal balances. Purchase ledgers stay separate.

## What you need in Sage 200

- A Sage 200 multi-company licence
- Access to System Administration

1. Create the parent and subsidiary companies in System Administration.
2. Create the chart of accounts in the parent and each subsidiary.
3. Link the subsidiary companies to the parent in System Administration.

## Good to know in Sage 200

- There is no limit to the number of subsidiaries that can be consolidated into a parent.
- Subsidiaries can have different base currencies. The parent exchange rates are used when consolidating.
- Sage recommends the parent is used for reporting only. Consolidation covers nominal balances, so each company keeps its own purchase ledger.

## Common questions

### Can Sage 200 run several companies?

Yes, with a multi-company licence. Each company has its own data files and settings. Use Tools > Change Company to switch. Setting up extra companies is done in System Administration.

### Does Sage 200 consolidate group accounts?

Yes, at nominal ledger level. Subsidiary balances post to the parent as an imported journal. Sage advises not to enter prior year journals, as they distort the current period.

### Can a supplier invoice be split across two Sage 200 companies?

Not natively. A third-party vendor, Sicon, says Sage 200 as standard does not post intercompany transactions and sells an add-on for it.

### Can one approver work across companies?

Yes. A person can have a role in each company. Their waiting count shows per company.
