# PO matching for Business Central

Business Central has PO matching built in. Pulsify matches each bill line to a purchase order line and flags extra quantity, a different price or lines not on the purchase order.

PO matching means checking a supplier bill against the purchase order it belongs to before you pay it.

## What Business Central does on its own

Get Receipt Lines and Get Order Lines and draft matching to orders and receipts.

## What you need in Business Central

- Purchasing permissions
- Payables Agent if you want draft invoices matched to orders

## Setting it up in Business Central

Where to find it: Purchase Invoices > Lines: Get Receipt Lines or Get Order Lines

1. Receive the order first by posting the receipt on the purchase order.
2. Open a new purchase invoice for the vendor.
3. Choose Get Receipt Lines or Get Order Lines and pick the lines.
4. Check quantity and price against the vendor's invoice.
5. Post. Quantity Invoiced on the order updates.

## What Pulsify adds

1. Your open purchase orders come into Pulsify from Business Central.
2. Pulsify links each invoice to its purchase order.
3. It matches each invoice line to a PO line and flags lines that bill more than ordered, are priced differently or are not on the PO.
4. A panel shows how much of the PO has been claimed, what this invoice adds and what is left. This handles part deliveries and progress claims.
5. Approve. The purchase invoice is created in Business Central against the purchase order.

Pulsify connects to Business Central. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do:

- PO matching is two-way: invoice to PO. Pulsify has no goods receipts.
- There is no tolerance setting. Pulsify compares to the cent and the approver decides.

## Common questions

### Does Business Central do 3-way match?

It matches by pulling receipt lines into the invoice with Get Receipt Lines. You then compare price and quantity yourself. Business Central does not warn when the invoice differs from the order.

### Can I match an invoice for part of an order?

Yes. Post the partial receipt using Qty. to Receive, then pick only those receipt lines on the invoice. The rest of the order stays open for the next delivery.

### Does Pulsify stop a bill with a price difference?

No. Pulsify flags the difference on the bill. The approver decides whether to approve, reject or send it back.
