# Supplier price checks for Kinetic

Kinetic covers part of supplier price checks on its own. Pulsify checks every line against the purchase order or a price list you upload for each supplier.

A supplier price check compares the unit price on each bill line with the price you agreed, so overcharges are caught before you pay.

## What Kinetic does on its own

Kinetic has no standard price tolerance on invoices. Enter the invoice at the supplier price and the difference posts as a purchase price variance. The GRNI clearing tolerance in Company Configuration is about not invoiced receipts, not price. Some sites build a BPM rule that stops a line over a set percentage of the PO line.

## What you need in Kinetic

- Company Configuration access
- Business Process Management if you want a hard stop

## Setting it up in Kinetic

Where to find it: Company Configuration > Modules > Finance > Accounts Payable (GRNI clearing tolerance); AP Invoice Entry

1. Receive against the PO and pick the receipt in Get Not Invoiced Receipts.
2. If the supplier price differs, key the actual price on the invoice.
3. The difference posts as a purchase price variance.
4. Review variances with Edit List in AP Invoice Entry.
5. If you want a stop, ask a developer for a BPM rule on the invoice line.

## Good to know in Kinetic

- Changing the PO price means unreceiving, reopening and re-approving, then receiving again.
- On an invoice with a different value from the receipt, Epicor can revalue the FIFO layer with an ADJ-PUR transaction and expense the rest.

## How to do it in Kinetic

### How to check AP invoice lines against agreed supplier prices in Kinetic

Keep the agreed price list for each supplier outside Kinetic. Compare each AP invoice unit price to the list and query any difference. Update the list when prices change. Full guide: https://www.pulsify.tech/how-to/check-bills-against-agreed-supplier-prices-in-epicor-kinetic/

## What Pulsify adds

1. Upload the prices you agreed with a supplier as a CSV. One price list per supplier, up to 100,000 items.
2. Pulsify checks the unit price on every line of that supplier's bills against the list, by item code then exact description.
3. Lines priced differently or not on the list are flagged.
4. If a bill is matched to a purchase order, line prices are checked against the PO too.
5. The approver sees the flag and decides.

Pulsify connects to Kinetic. We set up the connection for you.

What Pulsify does not do:

- There is no tolerance. Any difference is flagged.
- Pulsify does not track rebates or price history.

## Common questions

### Does Kinetic block an invoice priced above the PO?

No. Kinetic has no standard percentage tolerance. The difference posts as a purchase price variance unless a BPM stops it.

### Where do price differences go?

To a purchase price variance account.

### How do I update a price list?

Upload the new CSV. It replaces the old list and open bills are checked again the next time they are opened.
