Multi-entity accounts payable means running supplier bills for several companies, each with its own books, from one team.
What Business Central does on its own
Business Central supports intercompany transactions between companies and consolidation of several companies into one. Intercompany partners exchange sales and purchase documents and general journal lines, and a consolidated company collects the results of its business units.

Where to find it: Intercompany Setup (search for it)

- Pick a synchronization partner so the intercompany chart of accounts and dimensions come from one company.
- Map your accounts and dimensions to the intercompany chart of accounts and dimensions, in both directions.

- For group results, sign in to the consolidated company, open Business Units and choose Consolidate.
Good to know in Business Central
- All partners must use the same intercompany chart of accounts and agree a unique partner code for each company.
- Purchase invoices are not submitted to partners through intercompany. A sales invoice sent through intercompany becomes a purchase invoice in the receiving company.
- Consolidation can combine companies with different charts of accounts, fiscal years and currencies. The help says to test the data before you consolidate.

Common questions
Can Business Central post between group companies?
Yes. After you set up intercompany partners, a sales or purchase document at one company creates the matching document at the other. General journal lines balance both companies' books. Partners can sit in different environments or tenants with extra setup.
How do I get group results?
Create a consolidated company, add each company as a business unit, test the data, then choose Consolidate on the Business Units page. The consolidated company holds results and no live business data.
Can one approver work across companies?
Yes. A person can have a role in each company. Their waiting count shows per company.
