Example in Business Central
Example Pipe Supplies bills $3,300 including GST for 100 fittings at $30. Your order says $27. The AP clerk puts the entry on hold while the supplier checks the price.
| Line | Amount | Tagged to |
|---|---|---|
| Vendor ledger entry, invoice | $3,300.00 | On Hold set to DSP |
| Suggest Vendor Payments | $0.00 | Skips the held entry |
| Purchase credit memo when it arrives | -$330.00 | Applied to the invoice |
The entry stays out of the payment journal while On Hold has a value. When the purchase credit memo arrives, apply it, clear On Hold and pay the $2,970 balance.
Common mistakes
