Supplier statement reconciliation means checking a supplier's supplier statement against the bills and credits in your books, so nothing is missing or paid twice.

What Sage 50 does on its own

Sage 50 Accounts has no statement import and no automatic matching. You run Aged Creditors or the supplier Activity screen at the statement date and tick each statement line against the ledger by hand. Unmatched payments and credits are allocated so the balance agrees.

Common questions

Can Sage 50 match a supplier statement automatically?

No automatic matching or statement import was found. You compare the statement to the supplier Activity screen or Aged Creditors by hand and allocate any unmatched items.

Which Sage 50 report do I use to check a supplier balance?

Use Aged Creditors for all suppliers, or the supplier Activity screen for one supplier. Both show invoices, credits and payments by date so you can tick them off against the statement.

What if a supplier statement shows an invoice I have not entered?

Enter it on Batch invoice. Sage 50 will show a duplicate alert if an apparent copy already exists. Then allocate any payment or credit so the supplier balance agrees.

How often should I reconcile statements?

Monthly for your biggest suppliers, before the payment run. Start with the suppliers you pay the most.
