Job costing supplier bills means tagging each bill line to a job so you can see cost against budget for every job.

Before you start

  • Jobs set up

The MYOB Business way

Where to find it: Accounting menu > Jobs; Reporting menu > Reports > Jobs

  1. Go to Accounting > Jobs and click Create job. Enter a Job number, Job name and Description.
  2. On each bill line, choose the Job in the Job column. Only one job can be chosen per line, so use a separate line for each job.
  3. Go to Reporting > Reports > Jobs and run a job report such as Job profit and loss comparison.

Limits in MYOB Business

  • One job per line.
  • No job budgets or commitments from purchase orders are described in the Jobs help.

Good to know in MYOB Business

  • Jobs can also be assigned to spend money, receive money, quotes, invoices and general journals. Available reports depend on your plan.

The Pulsify way

  1. Forward the supplier's invoice to Pulsify. Pulsify reads every row as its own line.
  2. Review each line's account and set the job where it applies.
  3. Route bills to the person who knows the job, using approval rules.
  4. Approve. The bill is created in MYOB Business with each line.

Pulsify connects to MYOB in one click. Approved bills are created in MYOB with the source file attached.

What Pulsify does not do here

  • Pulsify does not split lines by percentage.
  • Job reports are run in MYOB Business.
