The Taxable payments annual report (TPAR) tells the ATO what you paid contractors in certain industries during the financial year.

Before you start

  • Sage 300 Accounts Payable
  • A/P security authorisation for the screen

The Sage 300 way

Where to find it: Accounts Payable reports by vendor account set, plus a custom report or macro

  1. Mark subcontractor vendors using a separate account set or an optional field.
  2. Build a custom AP report for those vendors showing amount paid, GST and ABN for the financial year.
  3. Export the data to the format the ATO software or portal needs.

Limits in Sage 300

  • The standard AP guide only has 1099 and CPRS reporting (US and Canada). No TPAR report was found in Sage 300 or the Australia Tax Reports guide.
  • The Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate product (different) has a Close Taxable Payments Year task.

Words Sage 300 uses

  • Optional field. A custom field you add to vendors, invoices or lines for extra tracking.

Common mistakes

  • Using the 1099 or CPRS reports, which are for the US and Canada.
  • Leaving contractor vendors unmarked, so a custom report cannot pick them out.

Common questions

Does Sage 300 have a TPAR report?

No TPAR report was found in Sage 300 or the Australia Tax Reports guide. An Australian partner on Sage City says they build custom reports on vendor account sets and a macro to export data for the ATO.

How would I mark contractors?

Use a separate account set or an optional field for subcontractor vendors. Then build a custom AP report showing amount paid, GST and ABN for the financial year.

Is Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate different?

Yes. It is a different product and has a Close Taxable Payments Year task. The standard AP guide only has 1099 and CPRS reporting, which are for the US and Canada.
