A duplicate invoice check stops the same supplier bill being entered and paid twice.
What Sage 200 does on its own
On Record Purchase Invoice in Purchase Order Processing you can enter the invoice reference and date. Sage 200 then checks for an existing record with the same reference and date and shows a warning. The help does not say if invoices keyed directly in the Purchase Ledger are checked.
- Unverified.
- Reference and date only; amount is not compared.

What Pulsify adds
- Pulsify checks every invoice against earlier ones on invoice number plus supplier, tax ID or date.
- Bills keyed straight into Sage 200 count too.
- A file identical to one already uploaded is held. A person can process it anyway.
- A suspected duplicate asks the approver to confirm with Approve anyway.

What Pulsify does not do
- Pulsify never matches duplicates on amount alone.

Common questions
Does Sage 200 warn about duplicate supplier invoices?
Yes, on Record Purchase Invoice in POP. If the reference and date match an existing record a warning shows. The help does not say if direct Purchase Ledger invoices are checked.
What does the duplicate check compare?
The invoice reference and date. The Sage help does not include the amount in the check.
Is the duplicate warning compulsory?
No. Entering the reference and date is optional, so the warning appears only when you fill them in.
Why do duplicates happen?
The same invoice arrives by email and post, a supplier resends it as a reminder, or two people enter it. A statement can also be keyed as a bill.
