Applying a supplier credit note means recording the credit and allocating it against the bill it reduces, so you pay only the balance.
Before you start
- Bill and payment permissions
The MYOB Acumatica way
Where to find it: Bills and Adjustments (AP301000), Type Debit Adjustment; then Checks and Payments (AP302000)
- Open Bills and Adjustments (AP301000) and create a new document with the Type set to Debit Adjustment.
- Pick the vendor, type the supplier's credit note number in Vendor Ref. and enter the lines. Save the document.
- If an approval map is set for this document type, the document waits in Pending Approval. The approver clicks Approve on the More menu and the status changes to Balanced.
- Click Apply on the More menu. Checks and Payments (AP302000) opens with the debit adjustment selected in the Summary area.
- On the Documents to Apply tab pick the bill or credit adjustment the credit clears.
- Save and release the application.
- Open Vendor Details (AP402000) to check the vendor balance has dropped. AP Register Detailed (AP622000) shows the GL batch made when the document was released.
