An aged payables report lists what you owe each supplier, grouped by how overdue each bill is. What is accounts payable?
Before you start
- Reports permission
The MYOB Acumatica way
Where to find it: Finance > Accounts Payable > AP Aging (AP631000)
- Open AP Aging (AP631000).
- Choose Report Format: Summary (past due balances), Detailed (the default, past due documents) or Detailed with Retainage (needs the Retainage Support feature).
- Set Age as of Date. It defaults to the current business date. Optionally narrow by Company/Branch, Vendor Class or Vendor.
- Run the report. It lists released AP documents dated on or before that date, with the balance as at the date. Balances not yet due sit in the Current column and overdue balances are split by days past due.
- For a balance per vendor and AP account, run AP Balance by Vendor (AP632500). For what is falling due, run AP Coming Due.
Limits in MYOB Acumatica
- The report uses released documents only. A document with no due date is treated as due on the Age as of Date, so it lands in Current.
- Amounts show in the base currency. With the Multiple Base Currencies feature on, the Company/Branch box is required.
Good to know in MYOB Acumatica
- The bands come from Aging Period 1, 2 and 3 in AP Preferences (AP101000). Each is a number of days outstanding or past due.
- Debit adjustments have a negative sign and are included when the report adds up balances.
- If the Customer and Vendor Visibility Restriction feature is on, your role can limit which vendor classes and vendors you can pick.
Common mistakes
- Running the report for the wrong date, so the ageing columns do not match month end.
- Using AP Aging when you want to see what falls due soon. AP Coming Due covers that.
