Closing the month in AP means making sure every bill for the month is entered, approved and coded and the payables balance ties out.
The CloudSuite Industrial way
Where to find it: Posting to A/P Ledger Distribution Journal; G/L period close
- Post vouchers and payments
- Post to the A/P Ledger Distribution Journal
- Run the A/P reconciliation reports and close the period
- If Voucher Authorization is on, run the Voucher Authorization utility for the Matched or Failed vouchers you want to clear. It has Preview and Commit modes and sets postable vouchers to Authorized.
- Print and post vouchers, then post the A/P Distribution Journal. After posting you can add text to a line but any change needs the A/P Vouchers and Adjustments form.
- Check the General Ledger accounting periods. They only group transactions visually and you must keep the current period number up to date yourself.

Words CloudSuite Industrial uses
- Voucher. The record of a vendor invoice you owe. It is created in A/P Vouchers and Adjustments or generated from a PO receipt.
- Adjustment. A change to an existing voucher, for example for returned goods. A negative adjustment lowers what you owe.
