An aged payables report lists what you owe each supplier, grouped by how overdue each bill is. What is accounts payable?
The Sage 300 CRE way
Where to find it: Accounts Payable > Reports > Invoice Registers > Open Invoices w/ Cut-off Date
- Run Open Invoices w/ Cut-off Date for a past date.
- Or use the AP Aging dashboard reports (Mobile Dashboard).
- Because Accounts Payable in Sage 300 CRE is a close-year application, you do not roll back a period to age at a past month end. Use the report cut-off date instead.
- That answer names Invoice Aging w/Cutoff Date under Reports > Cash Management. The TUG 2017 reconciliation lab names Accounts Payable > Reports > Invoice Registers > Open Invoices w/ Cut-off Date. Check which menu your version shows.
- Run the aging, then compare it with the General Ledger. The TUG lab lists Accounts Payable > Reports > GL Reconciliation > Period End Report for AP (RP) accounts as the third report to agree.
- For the dashboard, the v22 release notes describe AP Aging - Vendor Detail (open invoices with invoice number, invoice date, accounting date, invoice amount and remaining retainage payable) and AP Aging - Vendor Summary.
Limits in Sage 300 CRE
- Dashboard AP Aging - Vendor Summary shows aging periods and an open retainage column.
- The dashboard Vendor Summary grid shows open amount, open retainage amount, average days open and each aging period, with drill-down by vendor.
Good to know in Sage 300 CRE
- The TUG lab warns to check the Open Invoices w/ Cut-off Date report for negative values. A check dated before the invoice accounting date by mistake can put AP out of balance with the GL.
- The v22 release notes also list an AP Open Invoice Detail dashboard report, with the invoice balance, open retainage and net amount owed for each vendor.
Words Sage 300 CRE uses
- Retainage. The word for retention in the US edition. Money held back from a subcontract invoice.
Common mistakes
- Running the report without a cut-off date when you want a past month end.
- Reading the dashboard Vendor Summary as if retainage were already paid. It has its own column.

Common questions
Which report shows invoices open at a past date?
Open Invoices w/ Cut-off Date, under Accounts Payable > Reports > Invoice Registers. Sage 300 CRE users also name Invoice Aging w/ Cutoff Date.
Is there an aging dashboard?
Sage v22 release notes describe AP Aging dashboard reports. The Vendor Summary shows aging periods and an open retainage column.
Why might aging not match the ledger?
Entries made to the AP account outside AP are one cause. Compare the Period End Report for AP Accounts, the GL balance and Open Invoices w/ Cut-off Date.
Does Pulsify run this report?
No. Run it in your accounting system.
