Closing the month in AP means making sure every bill for the month is entered, approved and coded and the payables balance ties out.

The Sage 300 CRE way

Where to find it: Accounts Payable > Reports > GL Reconciliation

  1. Post all invoices and checks for the month.
  2. Post the General Ledger New file (GL > Tasks > Post Entries).
  3. Run Period End Report for AP Accounts and compare it to the GL balance and Open Invoices w/ Cut-off Date.
  4. Fix differences, for example entries made to the AP account outside AP.
