Common questions

Is purchase order approval built into Sage 300?

Approval applies to requisitions, not to the order itself. Turn it on in P/O Options. A user without approval security leaves a requisition On Hold.

How do I see which orders are late?

Open Purchase Orders > P/O Statistics and Inquiries > Pending Receipts Inquiry. Search by item or vendor and tick Show Late POs Only.

Can I change a purchase order after receipts are posted?

You can add detail lines at any time. You cannot delete the order or its details after a receipt is posted. Cancel the outstanding quantity instead.

Should every purchase have a purchase order?

Most teams set a dollar amount or a supplier list. Regular small bills such as power often skip a PO and go through approval instead.
