A bank detail change is when a supplier asks you to pay a new BSB or account. It is a common fraud route.
The Kinetic way
Where to find it: Supplier Maintenance > Bank / Remit To; BPM on VendBank
- Restrict who can edit supplier bank details with security
- Set a BPM on VendBank that emails the finance director and sets the supplier inactive when bank fields change
- Check invoices in the queue, because Epicor copies the bank details onto the invoice when it is entered
- Run a BAQ to compare invoice bank against the current supplier bank
Limits in Kinetic
- A new invoice keeps the old bank if the supplier changes bank after entry
- A BPM on VendBank can miss first-time bank adds, so test that it covers them
Words Kinetic uses
- BPM. Business process management. Custom rules that run on events such as saving an invoice.
- BAQ. Business Activity Query. A saved query used for reports and checks.
The Pulsify way
- Forward the supplier's invoice to Pulsify.
- Pulsify compares the BSB and account number on the invoice with the supplier record in Kinetic.
- If either differs, Pulsify flags it with the system value.
- Verify with the supplier by phone before you approve.
Pulsify connects to Kinetic. We set up the connection for you.
What Pulsify does not do here
- Pulsify flags a mismatch. It does not decide whether the new details are real.
- It cannot verify details a supplier has never had in Kinetic.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting that invoices already entered keep the old bank details.
- Building a BPM that catches edits but not first-time bank adds.

Common questions
Can I be told when bank details change?
Set a BPM on VendBank that emails the finance director and sets the supplier inactive when bank fields change. Test that it also covers first-time bank adds.
Why does an invoice keep the old bank?
Epicor copies the bank details onto the invoice when it is entered. A new bank on the supplier does not change invoices already in the queue.
Is there a standard approval for bank changes?
No. Kinetic has no standard approval screen for bank changes. Restrict who can edit bank details with security.
What does Pulsify check?
It compares the BSB and account number on the invoice with the supplier details in your accounting system.
