Applying a supplier credit note means recording the credit and allocating it against the bill it reduces, so you pay only the balance.

The Sage Intacct way
Where to find it: Accounts Payable > All > Adjustments
- Go to Accounts Payable > All > Adjustments and add an adjustment.
- For a supplier credit choose Type Debit Memo (it lowers what you owe). Credit Memo does the opposite.
- Enter the lines and post it. It becomes a vendor credit.
- On Pay bills select the bill and choose Apply credits (automatic) or Line details (manual).
- Create the payment request as normal.
Limits in Sage Intacct
- Intacct uses debit memo for a vendor credit and credit memo for an increase in what you owe.
