A partial delivery is when a supplier delivers and bills only part of a purchase order, so the PO stays open with a balance.
The Sage 50 way
Where to find it: Purchase order processing
- Enter the purchase order.
- Receive what has arrived. On the bill, Ship > All receives everything in one go; for part deliveries change the quantity received.
- The PO stays open until all items or services are received, then closes by itself. Use Close PO to close it early.
Limits in Sage 50
- UK: one community report of the PO posted flag showing FULL while an invoice was still outstanding.
The Pulsify way
- Sync your open POs from Sage 50 to Pulsify.
- Forward each purchase invoice. Pulsify links it to the purchase order and matches lines on quantity and unit price.
- Pulsify shows how much of the purchase order is claimed, what this purchase invoice adds and what is left.
- Pulsify flags a line that bills more than what is left on the purchase order.
- Approve. The purchase invoice is created in Sage 50 against the purchase order.

What Pulsify does not do here
- Pulsify matches to within 1 cent and has no tolerance setting.
- A lower quantity than the purchase order line is not flagged, because partial delivery is normal.
Common mistakes
- Using Ship > All when only part of the order arrived.
- Trusting the PO posted flag alone in the UK, as one report shows FULL with an invoice outstanding.
