The Taxable payments annual report (TPAR) tells the ATO what you paid contractors in certain industries during the financial year.
Before you start
- TPAR set up: ABN for the company code, TPAR Service Type configuration (G/L accounts per service type)
- Statutory reporting set up (reporting entity AU_RPG_ENT)
The S/4HANA way
Where to find it: Run Statutory Reports app, report AU_TPAR_REP (Australia Taxable Payments Annual Report)
- Set up TPAR Service Type: link the expense G/L accounts (single or range) to each TPAR service type or grant.
- Open Run Statutory Reports and find AU_TPAR_REP for the reporting year.
- Choose New Run, enter Company Code and Reporting Date, and run.
- Download the TPAR Data File (text) and submit it on the ATO business portal.
- Update the submission status after you lodge. Use a correction phase if data was wrong.
Limits in S/4HANA
- TPAR payments are found through the expense G/L accounts you configure, not a tag on the supplier.
- Withholding tax and its payments are out of scope for this report.
- Due 28 August each year.
Words S/4HANA uses
- Company code. A legal entity with its own books.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting to link an expense G/L account to a TPAR service type, so its payments are not found.
- Expecting withholding tax payments in this report, which are out of scope.
