A supplier price check compares the unit price on each bill line with the price you agreed, so overcharges are caught before you pay.
What Sage 300 CRE does on its own
No check of an invoice price against an agreed unit price was found in Sage 300 CRE. The only control found is a tolerance on the commitment total at invoice entry. Price checks are done by comparing the invoice to the commitment by eye.
- Only a commitment total tolerance found.
Setting it up in Sage 300 CRE
Where to find it: Accounts Payable > File > Company Settings > AP Settings > Invoice Settings > Warning message settings
- Open the commitment and note the agreed price and total.
- Enter the supplier invoice against the commitment in Accounts Payable.
- Compare each distribution line with the commitment line.
- Read the warning if the total invoiced goes above the commitment plus tolerance.
- Hold the invoice as pending until the supplier explains the difference.
Good to know in Sage 300 CRE
- The tolerance is on the commitment total, not on each line.
- Committed cost reports show invoiced and balance, which helps spot over billing by job.
- The related Sage 100 Contractor product has a separate invoice over purchase order warning with flat amount or percent tolerance. Do not assume Sage 300 CRE works the same way.
How to do it in Sage 300 CRE
How to set a price tolerance on purchase order matching in Sage 300 CRE
Sage 300 CRE sources describe a tolerance on the commitment total at invoice entry, not a per-line price tolerance. Set the tolerance under AP Settings > Invoice Settings > Warning message settings.
What Pulsify adds
- Upload the prices you agreed with a supplier as a CSV. One price list per supplier, up to 100,000 items.
- Pulsify checks the unit price on every line of that supplier's bills against the list, by item code then exact description.
- Lines priced differently or not on the list are flagged.
- If a bill is matched to a purchase order, line prices are checked against the PO too.
- The approver sees the flag and decides.

What Pulsify does not do
- There is no tolerance. Any difference is flagged.
- Pulsify does not track rebates or price history.

Common questions
Does Sage 300 CRE check unit prices on supplier invoices?
No agreed unit price check was found. A warning can fire when the total invoiced exceeds the commitment plus tolerance.
How do I hold an invoice with a price query?
Enter it as pending, or switch on the Approval System, so it does not reach job cost or payment until someone releases it.
Where does the tolerance come from?
From AP Settings > Invoice Settings > Warning message settings, according to Sage 300 CRE users.
How do I update a price list?
Upload the new CSV. It replaces the old list and open bills are checked again the next time they are opened.
