Invoice fraud checks look for fake invoices and changed bank details before money leaves your account.
What S/4HANA does on its own
The supplier master keeps change documents so you can see who changed what. Dual control on sensitive fields such as bank details keeps the supplier blocked for payment until a second authorised person confirms the change. Approval of every master data change needs Master Data Governance, which is separate.
What you need in S/4HANA
- Dual control set up for sensitive fields
- A second authorised user to confirm the change

Common questions
Can S/4HANA stop a changed supplier bank account from being paid?
Dual control on sensitive fields keeps the supplier blocked for the payment run until a second authorised person confirms the change.
Can I see who changed a supplier record?
Yes. Change documents record who changed which field. Use Display changes under Master records > Maintain centrally.
Does it check the ABN against the ABN register?
The help describes the 11 digit format only. It does not describe a lookup against the register, so check it on abr.business.gov.au yourself.
What is the most common invoice fraud?
A fake email asking you to update a supplier's bank details. The next real invoice is then paid to the fraudster's account.
